JULIA LEVANDER DREW
I am Swedish but moved to the wild and beautiful Highlands of Scotland in 2004 where I live with my husband and two daughters. I am a self taught textile artist and cut every piece free hand, without using any patterns, my motto is simple;
“I make what I want”.
Creating is necessary for my wellbeing and I feel very fortunate to be able to make a living doing something I love so much.
I channel joy and creativity into my textile animal sculptures, often playing on contrasting characters. Lately my environmental anxiety has taken me deeper into animal rights and I strongly believe we all need to make serious changes to the way we live our lives. I want to get people thinking about how they view and interact with animals and our planet as a whole.
